Overview
Tradesy is a web-based platform that simplifies the process of buying and selling fashion items. The design team at Tradesy focuses on crafting a seamless and trustworthy peer-to-peer fashion marketplace.
Problem
Previously, the Tradesy application lacked a comprehensive onboarding experience. The User Growth team I was a part of aimed to improve the onboarding process to achieve several new objectives:
Increase the number of users who create accounts rather than skipping this step.
Showcase examples of designers and their products available on the Tradesy app.
Emphasize the ease of selling items using the Tradesy application.
Solution
I designed a series of introductory pages for the Tradesy application, which users see before entering the site. These pages feature images of designer items and provide simple explanations of how the app works for buying and selling. I also applied user data to select the featured designers and products that would be most appealing for new users. Users can either create an account immediately or explore the app and sign up later.
If users did not decide to create an account when first opening the Tradesy application, we wanted to present another opportunity for the user to create an account. If the user added an item to their ‘Shopping Cart’ or ‘Want List’, another screen would display to show the Save Sizes feature available for logged in users. Users could also see the option to use the Save Sizes feature on a card shown on the homepage of the Tradesy application. The user can input their personalized sizes by going through the full Save Sizes flow.
